I know I am barely pregnant but my body has seemed to remember what happened last time and a small bump has popped up over night.

I managed to get a couple of pairs of maternity jeans second hand just for the cost of postage and picked them up at the PO collection office this morning.

Bliss I can sit down in comfort again !!!

...so it is essential that all gates are closed after use and Babychair agrees.

We have removed the babygate from the bottom of the stairs and this one will be refitted at a later point to the top of the stairs, when we move Babychair to a real bed.

We have previously bought a much wider gate for the french doors off the living room but they took up far too much space in that room and we have decided to replace the wide gate with a rollerblind one in summer if we feel we still need one on that door gated.

So the large heavy wide gate has been in place in the downstairs hall for a few weeks now. Working well enough as a baby gate despite needing to be properly anchored to the walls due to the size and weight, or so we thought.

This afternoon I was cooking in the kitchen, watching Babychair playing with her toys in the hallway. She walked to the barrier, without heistation pulled the gate away from the wall at one end, walked though the gap, turned around and carefully pulled the gate back into position against both walls !!!

LOL, I wonder what Babychair thinks about the gate, she understands it needs to remain closed but doesn't realise the aim is to keep her on one side of it.

Bless her, needless to say the gate is now firmly and permanently attached to both walls.

Nothing rude I promise

Babychair has started hyperventilating whilst forcing air though her lips, which comes out as Ffff Ffff Ffff with much energy. She is making this sound more and more, trying to tell me something of great importance looking at her body language.

It finally occurred to me today what she meant.........Food !!!

Something I say often to her, without realising. Would you like breakfast ? Lets go and get some food. What about lunch, lets go and get some food. So she has correctly picked up that the ‘food’ is the correct phrase but struggling in the cutest way to say it.

Tonight I hear Deckchair chat to Babychair in the kitchen and he comes in holding his daughter on one hip...to ask what IS she saying. Food I reply. Ahhh, He says in a relieved way.

My lovely and very understanding sister came down to stay for the weekend.

Lovely - because she always is.

Understanding - As we told her about new baby and her first and second reaction was positive celebrating and nevera thought for her wedding early summer next year.

As her wedding next year, no question I am still to be a bridesmaid (5/6 months pregnant no less)

It was wonderful to see my sister and I'm can't wait until her wedding next year
