It worked !!!

Babychair went to bed in her own room for the first time last night at 7pm. I fed her again at 10pm and then she slept thought until 7:30am

Plus she chatted to her book and piggie for 30 minutes before she shouted to get out of her cot...so she got up at 8am

I really hope this is a regular occurance but it was a welcome break either way

I had such a mad busy day yesterday on top of virtually no sleep. DD was up until 3am and then up for good at 6am and my eyes hurt I was so tired. Hence last night I slept in the spare room and caught up on sleep and Deckchair (bless him) was on baby duty.

Then this morning Babychair woke up for the day at 5am !!! So I decided that it was time for 8 month old Babychair to move into her own room.

I have moved countless boxs from the box room (from herefore know as Babychair's room) to our bedroom, then cleaned Babychair's room from top to bottom and got Deckchair to take to pieces and rebuild cot in there. Babychair is now asleep in her own room for the first time

So now our bedroom has loads of boxes along one wall but I think this is positive as I aim to attack this pile an hour a day during Babychair's morning nap, until I have sorted it all.

I also did loads around the house today and even though we have visitor around and we have been drinking a lovely wine, the house is still clean and tidy...wonders will never cease

The FLY Lady introduces people, with clutter messy homes, to a way of breaking their homes into zones and how to work in an organized way to clean and declutter each zone in turn until your home is clean and tidy. The actual FLY Lady site is a bit americian and chipper in attitude, if you know what I mean but the principles of FLYing are sound and do work.

Here is my English understanding of the FLY system :-

: Do some house work everyday and build up regular routines which work for you and your home.

: Don't beat yourself up about not doing everything right or right away.

: Accept that a messy cluttered house took years to get that way and will not be cleared up over night.

: Understand that a small mess left will gather more mess,like leaving mail on a table (hotspots)

: Realize that you can't organize clutter, it can only be sorted (chuck or find a home for)

: Chuck out all the things you don't need and/or love.

: The real key to a clean house is to clean as you go and stay on top of it

I love the FLY system it really helps me to be motivated and now when I looked around our home which use to be full to the brim with clutter I can see the difference that I have made to the house and that makes me happy. I still have a long way to go until my house is totally clean and clutter free but that is alright as things are improving all the time.

Babychair has spent the last ten minutes standing next to our leather sofa, spending an amazing amount of time holding one or sometimes both hands in the air whilst playing with bits of paper.

Slowly she managed to move up and down the length of sofa, whilst remaining standing. But like her first crawling type movements, I could not see clear sideways movement or stepping, just that she started at one end of the sofa and minutes later was stood giggling at the other end

Babychair is crawling like a pro, growing like a weed and pulling herself up on anything she can get her hands on. I keep telling her that babies don't walk until they are 14 months old, but I don't think she is listening to me

Sounds wise she says Hiya, Daddy, Mu Mu (which I am trying to shape to Mummy), ringing, whispering and shouts.

She is having problems sleeping well, due to teething. Apart from the week I was in hopsital when she sleep though the night for my mum. I hoped it would continue once I got home. My first night home and she woke up practically every hour to fed, maybe she was just checking I was still there. Though I was so tired I understood how she felt it was good to know she was there too.

She gives wonderful open mouthed kisses and bites our chins and has such a beautiful smile, it melts my heart.

We are very blessed by our loving daughter

Oh my....

Babychair pulled herself up on to my knee as I sit on the floor playing with her. She was stood up completely on her own, I didn't help her up at all. My sweet girl is just 8 months old and starting to stand on her own.

She pulls herself up on the sofa and her play box and wiggles her legs around, I reckon she will be walking around the furniture very soon

Babychair has started to pull herself up to standing on her big toy and can let go with one hand to play/grab things.


I did tell her that babies start walking at 14 months but I don't think she is listening to me.

Tell me she'll take 6 months or so to learn to walk properly ?

I haven't finished baby proofing the house to crawling height yet, so I can't have an upright baby in the house

Baby Led Weaning is going very well.

.....and properly loads of other things I can't remember and so far the only rejected food is tomatoes.

If you catch her at the right moment to sleep (i.e. Not too awake and not too tired) she has this little bedtime routine.

Babychair puts her fingers in her mouth, turns Piggie upside down by the foot with a tag of it and chews him. Finally she turns from her back to her right side in one jerky and determined motion and falls asleep nearly instantly. We creep out of the room and whisper 'good night'

Deckchair and I had a wonderful time and loved seeing all the animals and what did Babychair love the most......

Typical...I suppose she is far too young for the zoo but we had a lovely day out.

We met up with my DH Belgium Cousin and her DH and DD.

So Babychair got to meet her cousin a scant two months older than her.
