I have just had my 39 weeks and 4 day appointment with my midwife and she said I have made no progress

Good points -
Baby heartbeat is strong
Blood pressure is lower
Baby is head down

Bad points-
Baby is 'very big'
Baby is no where near engaged
Likely to have no progress for the next couple of weeks. (which puts me in induction zone)

I can't sleep at night as I'm so uncomfortable down below, how can I not be engaged yet

Looks like I'm having a late big baby, meaning a clinical induction in hospital instead of the home water birth I had planned

I just waited until she left and just burst into tears.

I know I should be grateful that the rest of the appointment went so well but I'm so disappointed that I'm not engaged and that I have no chance of seeing my baby in the next few days

EDIT 10th August Update

I really feel better today and that is due to sensible advice from the pregnancy board I post on and my RL friends and family.

I have at least 16 days before I need to think about inducement (i.e. 2 days to my due date and the 2 weeks that the doctor 'allow' the baby to be overdue) Which takes me to the 26th August.

So on the bright side we have a maximum of 16 days before we meet Bert in real life and if we are lucky it might be sooner
